Cancellation Policy

Effective May 23, 2026

We understand plans change. The policy below applies to bookings made directly through laauhouse.com. Bookings made through third-party platforms are governed by those platforms’ policies.

Standard Cancellation Schedule

  • More than 60 days before arrival: Full refund of all amounts paid, less a non-refundable booking fee equal to 5% of the total, used to offset payment processing and administrative costs.
  • 30 to 60 days before arrival: 50% of the total booking is refundable. The remaining 50% is forfeited.
  • Less than 30 days before arrival: No refund.
  • Early departure or no-show: No refund of unused nights.

Refunds are issued by the original payment method within 14 business days of the cancellation.

Changing Dates

Date changes are accommodated where possible, subject to availability and any rate difference. A change requested more than 60 days before arrival is generally free; a change requested closer to arrival may be treated as a cancellation under the schedule above and a new booking. We’ll always tell you the implications in writing before any change is finalized.

Force Majeure and Disruption

If a hurricane warning, tsunami warning, mandatory evacuation order, government-imposed travel restriction, or comparable event prevents you from arriving, or prevents us from safely hosting you, we will work with you in good faith to either reschedule the booking or refund the unused portion. We are not responsible for changes to third-party flights, ferries, rentals, or personal travel plans.

Travel Insurance

We strongly encourage guests to purchase travel insurance, including coverage for trip cancellation, interruption, and personal property. Travel insurance is often the most reliable protection against last-minute changes outside of either party’s control.

How to Cancel

Cancellation requests must be made in writing to laauhouse@gmail.com and are effective on the date received. Please include your booking confirmation number.

Owner-Initiated Cancellation

In the rare event that we must cancel a confirmed booking, for example due to a property issue that affects habitability, we will notify you promptly and refund all amounts paid in full. Where practical, we will also help you find alternative accommodations.

This Cancellation Policy is incorporated into the Rental Agreement.
